Sisters Camille Metoyer-Moten and Lanette Metoyer-Moore will tell the story of sisters Sadie and Bessie Delany, who lived more than 100 years, at a presentation on the UNMC campus from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 21 at Eppley Science Hall, Room 3010.

The Delanys’ story was told in the book “Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years,” a 1993 New York Times bestselling book of oral history. Metoyer-Moten and Metoyer-Moore have portrayed the Delanys onstage in the theatrical adaption of the book.

The presentation, sponsored by the UNMC Department of Human Resources, marks Women’s History Month. Lunch will be served to the first 30 attendees.

These two ladies are phenomenal and I am so sad I will have to miss this presentation! I had the pleasure of seeing their portrayals of the Delany Sisters at the Omaha Community Playhouse in January and I was absolutely blown away!
