Events to mark Parkinson’s Awareness Month.

UNMC’s John Bertoni, M.D., Ph.D., professor of neurological sciences in the College of Medicine, will speak on Parkinson’s disease research updates at the Omaha Health Expo, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on April 12 at the CenturyLink Center, 455 N. 10th St., Omaha.

Dr. Bertoni’s presentation will be one of a series of statewide events supported by the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) of Nebraska to recognize Parkinson’s Awareness Month in April.

Throughout the month, in an effort to create awareness, APDA Nebraska offers a variety of events, including “Let’s Get a Strike for Parkinson’s” bowling event on April 26. Also, APDA Nebraska has partnered with local Parkinson’s resources to provide free Parkinson’s education and information classes.
