Education is one of the four pillars of UNMC’s mission and our students are the lifeblood of that aspect of campus life.

In UNMC Today’s Student Spotlight, we get to know some of these students, who will become tomorrow’s health care professionals.
Today we meet:

  • Name: Paul Cramer
  • Hometown: Lincoln
  • Program/Year: Master’s program, family nurse practitioner track, second semester.

What sparked your interest in nursing?
The type of care I saw given to family and friends by nurses every time I went to the hospital.

List three songs on your playlist.

  • “Give Me Back My Hometown,” Eric Church
  • “Round Here,” Florida George Line
  • “How Country Feels,” Randy Houser

Name your favorite study spot.
Either my apartment or the College of Nursing Science Building, second floor.

Your favorite study snack is:
Snickerdoodle cookies. (My wife makes a mean batch.)

Your favorite app is:
Right now, either my EKG trainer or Nike Run since I am training for the Lincoln Marathon.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • I spent five years at two different clinics as a physical therapy tech.
  • I am absolutely terrified of watching videos, looking at pictures or any type of material of great white sharks swimming in the ocean.
  • My brother is a nurse.
