UNMC College of Medicine Dean John Gollan, M.D., Ph.D., has appointed a 14-member search committee to identify candidates for the position of professor and chair of the department of internal medicine in UNMC’s College of Medicine.
“I’d like to thank the members of the search committee for serving in this extremely important role,” said Dr. Gollan, who served as internal medicine chairman for two and one-half years until being named dean of the college in December. “We are committed to finding an outstanding individual to lead the department of internal medicine to the next level in teaching, research and patient care.”
Rowen Zetterman, M.D., professor of internal medicine and chief of staff at the VA Medical Center, will chair the 14-member search committee. Other members of the committee include:

- William Palmer, M.D., clinical associate professor, internal medicine
- Rubens J. Pamies, M.D., professor, internal medicine, vice chancellor for academic affairs, dean, graduate college
- Tadd Pullin, vice president of marketing, planning, media and community relations, The Nebraska Medical Center
- Irving Zucker, Ph.D., professor and chair, physiology and biophysics
