Asthma walk set for April 24

picture disc.Did you know that more than 105,000 Nebraskans have asthma? It’s likely that you know an adult or child who suffers from this disease. Perhaps even you or someone in your family.

UNMC, University Medical Associates and The Nebraska Medical Center are teaming up with the American Lung Association of Nebraska on its second annual “Blow the Whistle on Asthma” Walk on Saturday, April 24, at the Gallup Riverfront Campus. Check in for the walk begins at 9 a.m. and the 3-mile walk through the Gallup campus starts at 10 a.m. Money raised will fund life-saving programs and asthma research.

“We are looking for employees and their families who want to join the campus team or become more involved by serving as a team captain,” said Paula Roman, one of the captains for the event. “Your participation will help fund life-saving programs and asthma research. You can make a difference and you don’t have to have asthma to participate.”

If you are interested in joining the campus team contact Paula Roman by e-mail at proman@nebraskamed.org. For more information visit the Lung Association Web site. To register, download the PDF form.
