Pat Leuschen, Ph.D., has been installed as president of the UNMC Faculty Women’s Club for the 2014-2015 year. The Faculty Women’s Club promotes fellowship through interest groups and social activities and supports medical education through an annual scholarship drive. The organization is open to women who hold academic or administrative appointments at UNMC or whose husbands hold such appointments. The annual membership drive is currently underway. Inquiries about membership may be made through the organization website.

Apar Ganti, M.D., was recently elected to the board of directors of Academic and Community Cancer Research United (ACCRU), a clinical research network that brings together leading scientific researchers from more than 65 academic institutions and community-based cancer treatment practices in the United States and Canada.

Ally Dering-Anderson, Pharm.D., clinical assistant professor in the department of pharmacy practice, has been named a 2014-2015 participant in the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Faculty Scholars Program. The program is designed to educate junior faculty about effective and meaningful community pharmacy-based patient care research. Dr. Dering-Anderson is one of eight participants selected nationally.
