Omaha Science Cafe events available on podcast

If you can’t make it to the next Omaha Science Cafe, don’t worry. The presentations are now available on podcast here or available for download on iTunes.

Of the dozen previous Omaha Science Cafe presentations now available, some of the topics include sexual health, autism, bipolar disorder, the legalization of marijuana and the facts, fantasies and phobias associated with radiation.

“We have been getting requests for years to podcast the cafes. Now that we finally are on iTunes, we hope to be able to reach those who couldn’t attend and those who are just searching for some new information in a fun format,” said Kacie Gerard, science outreach programs coordinator for UNMC.

Science Cafe is a free educational event sponsored by UNMC and other groups to increase the population’s science literacy. Hosted by UNMC and the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures, Science Cafes are held the first Tuesday of each month at the Slowdown in Omaha. They are open to everyone 21 and older.
