UNMC highlighted in NIH report on Nebraska impact

UNMC is featured in a new fact sheet describing the importance of National Institutes of Health funding in the state of Nebraska.

The fact sheet, viewable here, was created by the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) to raise awareness of how NIH funding supports each state’s economy, as well as to highlight the important work being done across the country to improve health and quality of life for all Americans.

The fact sheet also quotes Ken Bayles, Ph.D., UNMC’s associate vice chancellor for basic science research: “Research at medical schools, universities and academic medical centers supported by NIH funding creates skilled jobs and new diagnostic and medicinal products that generate economic growth right here in Nebraska.”
