The campus is invited to a retirement reception for Kathy Austin, to be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Monday, July 7, at the Truhlsen Eye Institute third floor.
Refreshments will be provided.
Austin, director of Friends and Alumni Relations for the institute, is retiring from the UNMC Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences after more than 20 years at UNMC. She was hired in January 1994 as secretary to the department chair, Michael Yablonski, M.D., Ph.D. She became department administrator in 1996.
Austin’s retirement is effective June 30.

She will be greatly missed.
