Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.

I work in the Eppley Institute for Cancer Research finance/administrative department. I help with eShop, purchase requisitions, (SAP) and P Card purchases for the labs and investigators, as well as various other accounting responsibilities.

Being a leader is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group act as a leader at UNMC.

I think the leadership at UNMC stands out overall in terms of the personal and professional development opportunities provided for the faculty and staff. Interesting programs and activities are available to anyone who wants to get engaged.

What is your favorite summer activity?
My favorite summer activities include spending time with family and friends and walking my two dogs, Molly & Phil.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • I love dogs and have been a volunteer dog walker at the Nebraska Humane Society for more than seven years.
  • I was born in Arizona and have lived in California, Quito Ecuador, Washington, Michigan, Virginia and Illinois. I am proud to call Omaha my home now.
  • I am the only one in my family at UNMC. My husband is a faculty member, my daughter is a graduate student and my son is an undergrad, all at UNO.

I've had the pleasure of working with Mary several times since she first started in the accounting & finance department and she is very friendly and considerate. I have enjoyed getting to know Mary and look forward to many more years of getting to know her.
