Speaker explores ‘The Miracle’ of medical professions

Paul McKellips, executive vice president of the Foundation for Biomedical Research in Washington, D.C., will be speaking at UNMC on Sept. 30.

His presentation, titled “The Miracle,” explores the life-saving cures, vaccinations, and therapies that the health care, research and medical community have already delivered to the world. The motivational presentation will explore the miraculous promises of the future and the nobility of the work being done at the med center.

McKellips is a writer, director and producer and has authored three bioterror action thriller novels — “Uncaged,” “Jericho 3” and “Box 731.”

He has served in multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan over the last six years, working as a media trainer and global outreach officer for the U.S. Department of State. In 2011, and at the request of Gen. David Petraeus, McKellips served as a NATO media trainer to the Afghan National Army on a remote base along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
