Solberg Smith lecture to explore nursing education

Registered nurse Karen Carlson, Ph.D., professor emeritus, College of Nursing, The University of New Mexico, will deliver the Audrey Solberg Smith Distinguished Lecture for Teaching Excellence on Oct. 9 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the University of Nebraska Kearney campus, Room 148W.

The lecture will be streamed live to other College of Nursing campuses, including Omaha (Center for Nursing Science building, Room 3030), Lincoln (Room 304), Norfolk (Room 139) and Scottsbluff (Room B130D.)

The title of the lecture is “Speed Bumps, Potholes, and Roadblocks of Implementing Concept-based Nursing Education.”

This annual lectureship in the UNMC College of Nursing honors an alumna and generous donor, Audrey Solberg “Solly” Smith, a 1947 and 1965 graduate of UNMC’s nursing programs.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity is provided for 2.0 contact hours under ANCC criteria.
