Wellness Wednesday: Blood drive on campus

You have the opportunity to save up to three lives by donating blood.

From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 30, UNMC is hosting a Red Cross blood drive inside the Student Life Center in the Center for Healthy Living.

UNMC/clinical enterprise team wins Corporate Cycling Challenge

The results are in for the 2014 Corporate Cycling Challenge, and the UNMC/clinical enterprise team was the Division AAA and overall winner for this year’s event.

The team scored 2,886.5 points. Union Pacific Railroad finished in second place with 2,848 points and third place Alegent Creighton Health had 2,307 points. (Employee riders get one point per mile and family members get .5 points per mile.)

Keith Allen is the winner of the $100 Visa gift card and John Schmadeke is the recipient of the $50 card. Thank you to Metro Credit Union for providing the gift cards.

This year, 4,400 total riders traveled 95,489 total miles in the event. For complete results, click here.

The goal for the drive is 57 units of blood, and appointments are still available.
