Pumpkin decorating contest seeks entrants

UNMC’s Fall Fest will be held Oct. 30 this year, but those who wish to participate in the event’s new pumpkin-decorating contest need to get carving.

The event, open to UNMC departments, colleges, and student groups, as well as individuals, will have sign-ups through Oct. 10. Groups signing up will receive an official “contest pumpkin” to decorate on Oct. 20. Contest entries must be brought to the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza by 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 30 to be submitted for judging.

There will be a judges’ winner and a “people’s choice” winner in the pumpkin contest. The creators of the winning gourd will receive a Hy-Vee gift card for breakfast or lunch up to $50.
