SAP ESS program announces new features

SAP Employee Self-Service (ESS) now offers four new functions to employees.

Current Leave Balances: Employee leave information is now available under the Working Time selection on the ESS Menu. When this option is selected, an up-to-date listing of an employee’s sick leave, vacation and floating holiday hour balances will be displayed. Following each leave type will be the hours used and the remaining balance for the current year. Vacation will also include the “Use or Lose” hours that an employee must take before the end of the year.

Leave Activity Report: This new feature appears on the same screen as the Leave Balance Information. Employees can now run a detailed report of leave time taken over a specified time period. The report will display the hours submitted on the selected leave type, and provide a total of the hours used for the period.

Print Pay Advice Option: Employees can now choose to discontinue receiving a hard copy of their pay advice (check stub). A check box has been added to the Paycheck Inquiry screen under the Payment section. Employees who no longer want to receive a printed pay advice can simply click a check box and the ‘save’ button and the system will stop printing the hard copy. This will stay in effect until the employee removes the check mark. Changes are allowed once every 30 days. Whether this box is checked or not, employees will continue to be able to view and print their pay advice online through ESS.

Maintain Banking Information: Direct Deposit Banking has been moved from Personal Information to the Payment section. Until now employees have only been able to look at their direct deposit information. ESS now gives employees the ability to change their Main Bank direct deposit information and add, change and delete their Other Bank information online.
