What sparked your interest in medicine?
Halloween was my favorite holiday growing up, and I had prepared my costume — Elvis Presley — months in advance. During my kindergarten year, I became ill with pneumonia and feared I’d miss my favorite day. However, a physician at the med center diagnosed and treated my illness, ensuring I was healthy enough to trick-or-treat with my friends.

Your favorite study snack is:
The almonds that my mom makes me bring along to campus every day in case I get hungry.

Your favorite app is:
Spotify, by far.

Three things people may not know about you:

  • I studied at the largest chimpanzee reserve in Africa. I also touched a lion when I was there. The lion was alive.
  • I remember my dreams every night . . . way too much of them.
  • I can sing and even drop the bass on occasion.
