The Center for Continuing Education will host the 17th annual Update for HIV Care Providers and Educators from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Scott Conference Center, 6450 Pine St.

Speakers include:

  • Thomas Tape, M.D., on “Health Care Reform 2014”
  • Ann Fitzgerald on “Truvada or not Truvada? That is the Question”
  • Kim Scarsi, Pharm.D., Alex Dworak, M.D., and Bret Bare on “Assisting Refugees and Immigrants with Access to Care and Adherence to Medication”
  • Sara Hurtado Bares, M.D., on “Updates in HIV Diagnostics”
  • Sheritta Strong, M.D., on “Update on the Management of HIV-Related Psychiatric Diseases”
  • Uriel Sandkovsky, M.D., on “Looking for STDs in all the Right Places”

The conference is aimed at physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, mental health providers, social workers and individuals involved in HIV/AIDS education and patient care. There is a $50 registration fee. For more information or to register for the conference, click here.
