UNMC for the record

UNMC College of Nursing students have teamed with Scary Acres to embrace the Halloween spirit and give back to the community. This Sunday, a portion of every ticket to the Scary Acres attraction in Omaha will be donated to the Fostering the Future group at the College of Nursing. Fostering the Future is a group of nursing students volunteering to work with pregnant teens and young mothers from Lincoln and Omaha who are in the foster care system. The money raised will be used to fund Project Linus, which makes fleece tie blankets for underprivileged children. The Fostering the Future members will purchase the fleece fabric, construct the blankets and deliver to community groups that serve underprivileged children such as Project Harmony and the Ronald McDonald House, among several others. Scary Acres is open 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday and is located at 17272 Giles Road in Omaha. For more information, click here.
