Morgan Dillon

Sixty members of the UNMC High School Alliance are among the students taking classes at UNMC this academic year.

The students come from high schools around the Omaha area and take college-level classes at UNMC to prepare for health careers.

Today we meet:

  • Name: Morgan Dillon
  • High school: Bellevue East High School
  • Year: Senior

How did you get involved in the UNMC High School Alliance?
I went to my high school counselor for helping in picking out classes for my senior year and she asked me what I wanted to do for a career. I told her I wanted to be a radiologist. She told me there was this really cool program that was offered at UNMC and that I should look into it, so I did.

What sparked your interest in science?

I like learning about the human anatomy and doing experiments in my high school science classes. I also like the fact that science has never-ending knowledge, so I can learn new things every day.

    What are your career aspirations?

My career aspiration is to become a radiologist. I want to be able to help diagnose and make the patient feel better. Working with cutting-edge and rapidly advancing technology is interesting as well.

What has been the best part of your UNMC High School Alliance experience so far?

The best part of the UNMC High School Alliance experience so far is how many new people I have met. Another great part is all the experiences I have had such as job shadowing, touring the microbiology lab, and getting the same opportunities that the college students get.
