On Saturday, there will be a steam interruption to all of Nebraska Medicine and UNMC buildings between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
This interruption will affect all building systems dependent upon steam. This includes all domestic hot water to all kitchens, labs, bathrooms and showers.
The steam shut off also will affect all sterilizers, autoclaves, glass washers, tunnel washers and cage washers in the buildings. It might also impact some temperature controls in most of the buildings.
Building temperature will not be affected in the Durham Research Center or the Hixson-Lied Center for Clinical Excellence.
This interruption is necessary to repair a steam leak in the central utility plant.
