What sparked your interest in medicine?
I’ve had an interest in medicine from a young age. After finishing my undergraduate program, I pursued research in traumatic brain injury, during which we would perform various surgical procedures on animals. The days we were in the OR were always my favorite. I still vividly recollect the day we had a guest surgeon help us with a particularly extensive procedure. It was amazing to watch him lead the surgery, not only for his technical skills, but also for how graciously he treated his team. That was the day I went from thinking about medicine to knowing that I would go into medicine. Additionally, I love working with people and find my time in clinic to be incredibly rewarding.
