The search committee for the chair of the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine continues to be active and has advanced two candidates for consideration.
The two candidates are:
- Sanjay Asthana, M.D., head of the division of geriatrics and gerontology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine.
- Debra Romberger, M.D., interim chair of the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Asthana is coming back to Omaha this week for a second visit. At 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, he will speak at an open forum in Room 4053 of the Sorrell Center. His speech is titled, “Academic Health Centers and Health Care Reform: Distinction or Extinction.”
Dr. Romberger will have her second interview on Dec. 8-9. At 5 p.m. Dec. 8, she will speak at an open forum in Room 4053 of the Sorrell Center. Her speech is titled “Looking to the Future for Academic Departments of Internal Medicine.”
