Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.
I work in the office of the vice chancellor for research (VCR) as the associate research subject advocate. I have two primary roles: serving as a liaison to the community to promote understanding about clinical research and opportunities to participate in clinical trials, and consulting with UNMC clinical researchers to ensure subject friendly clinical research protocols.

Commitment to excellence is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of an example of how you’ve experienced a commitment to excellence here at UNMC.
I have coordinated the Great Plains IRB Conference for five years. The conference brings together institutional review board members from three surrounding states to discuss best practices. At the first conference we had 14 participants. Due to the outstanding collaboration between the VCR staff and the UNMC IRB team, this past year we hosted 114 participants from 18 different universities and organizations.

What is your favorite fall activity?
