Free flu vaccinations still available

Free influenza vaccinations are still available to UNMC faculty, staff and students.

There is an organizational goal of 90 percent for staff participation in the influenza immunization drive — whether by receiving an immunization or filling out the form stating you won’t be vaccinated.

ITS led all other departments on campus with 96.7 percent of employees completing the form.

Staff can receive free vaccinations through the Employee Health office at Suite 600 in the Clarkson Doctor’s Building-South. For more information, to schedule a time or to fill out the form, click here.

Students can call Student Health at 559-7204 for information on vaccinations and to set up an appointment.

“Vaccination is the single best means to prevent influenza,” said Mark Rupp, M.D., professor of internal medicine-infectious diseases at UNMC and medical director for health care-epidemiology and infection control at Nebraska Medicine. “Health care providers have a moral and ethical responsibility to protect their patients and provide safe care.”
