Final NU presidential candidate arrives Tuesday

The final candidate for the position of president of the University of Nebraska will visit the UNMC campus Tuesday.

Sally Rockey, Ph.D., deputy director for extramural research at the National Institutes of Health, will meet with members of the UNMC community at 10:30 a.m. in the Sorrell Center, Room 1005.

George Ross, Ph.D., president of Central Michigan University, visited campus on Nov. 18, and Hank Bounds, Ph.D., commissioner of higher education for the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning, and Michael Martin, Ph.D., chancellor of the Colorado State University System, visited campus on Dec. 10.

UNMC’s James Linder, M.D., is serving as interim president for the university until a candidate is hired.

Members of the UNMC community unable to attend the forums are invited to attend the events held on one of the other campuses or the board’s interview with the finalists.
