University of Nebraska Interim President James Linder, M.D., has been named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.

Linder, who holds a faculty appointment as professor of pathology and microbiology at UNMC, is among 170 Fellows being named this year, bringing the total to 414.

The Fellows represent more than 150 prestigious research universities and governmental and non-profit research institutions from around the country.

Election to Fellow status in the National Academy of Inventors is a high professional distinction accorded to academic inventors who have demonstrated a prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society.
