UNMC will be raising the minimum wage paid to employees to $8 per hour effective Jan. 1, 2015.
This action is in response to The Nebraska Minimum Wage Increase, Initiative 425, which was approved by Nebraska voters on the November 4, 2014 ballot.
UNMC Payroll Services will complete the necessary work to increase the hourly wage of affected employees. Departments will not have to do anything to increase these employee’s wages.
Effective Jan. 1, 2016 all employees will be paid a minimum of $9 per hour to correspond to Initiative 425. We expect that this same automated process will be followed at that time.
This change affects less than a dozen employees at UNMC.
