The annual Martin Luther King Jr. event will be held today from noon to 1 p.m. in lower Storz Pavilion and feature a keynote address by the Rev. Darryl Eure.

Dr. Eure, who will perform a portion of several of Dr. King’s speeches, is pastor at the Freestone Baptist Church, and a lifetime community activist in civil and human rights in Nebraska.

Those unable to attend can watch via a live stream feed. UNMC employees must click here, while Nebraska Medicine employees must click here.

It is suggested that all employees who wish to view the event via either method have Quick Time on their computers. A free download is available on the Internet. If you have trouble accessing the program, call the UNMC Operation Center at (402) 559-8090 as soon as possible.

Keyboardist Nate Asad and drummer Billy Foeman Quartey will perform at the beginning and end of the program and local spoken word artist, Felicia Webster, (also known as Withlove, Felicia) will perform a selection of her poetry.
