Free lunch comes with complimentary panel discussion
On Thursday, Jan. 29, UNeMed will present, “Free Lunch,” with a complimentary panel discussion about potential alternate career opportunities for scientists. Register here to reserve a seat and receive a ticket for the free food. Guests who do not register and bring their printed ticket might not get free food. The free food and complimentary discussion will be at the Durham Research Center Auditorium at noon. “Free Lunch” and the one-hour panel discussion is a joint venture sponsored by UNeMed, UNMC’s technology transfer office, and UNMC’s Postdoctoral Association. UNeMed president and CEO Michael Dixon, Ph.D.; UNeMed vice president and director of marketing and licensing Steven Schreiner, Ph.D.; and UNeMed licensing associate Agnes Lenagh, Ph.D., will discuss how their career paths began with scientific pursuits and led to their current work in the technology transfer business. The discussion also will likely cover other avenues away from the bench, and how others might follow a similar path.

NU Foundation email addresses to change
The University of Nebraska Foundation announces that its email addresses for employees has changed. The new email addresses use an employee’s first name and last name separated by a period and follows this format: first.last@nufoundation.org. As another example, the address for someone named John Smith would be john.smith@nufoundation.org. The foundation’s previous email addresses will be delivered for a few weeks more, but the new addresses should be updated and used now.
