A virtual tour of the College of Medicine is now live. The redesigned website of the College of Medicine launched on Friday, and the virtual tour is featured on the front page.
The virtual tour features 10 360-degree photos that can be navigated with a computer mouse. Hotspots, marked with the red UNMC emblem, contain videos, photo slideshows and text, as well as links to various parts of unmc.edu.
The tour includes various locations across campus and within the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education. Videos feature faculty members, researchers, residents and students. The tour also is linked from the front page of unmc.edu.
The College of Medicine commissioned the Public Relations Department to complete the virtual tour, with the help of an external vendor. Other colleges and departments interested in completing a similar tour may contact Stacie Hamel, associate director of web and interactive media in PR.
The redesign of the College of Medicine site is part of ongoing campuswide work to move all of unmc.edu into a new web design and a new content management system, Cascade Server. The former CMS, RedDot, will be retired in March.
