Have you ever wondered what the UNMC Human Resources Department does with the results of its Engagement Survey?

Improvements to the Reward and Recognition program, new topics for the Learn@Lunch Series, and enhancements to the Management Series are just a few ways that your feedback has been used to help improve your experience at UNMC.

The Engagement Survey has been completed by employees at UNMC on a biennial basis since 2002 and is a vital tool that is used to measure and understand employee perceptions of the work climate and what motivates employees to succeed.

The 2015 Engagement Survey will be administered from March 9 through March 20 by a qualified third-party survey organization, Kenexa. No individual responses will ever be shared. Kenexa will tabulate and analyze the data and provide a summary report only.

Employees will receive an e-mail from UnmcEngagementSurvey@Kenexa.com containing a URL that they can click on to access the survey. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

This year, 45 “survey champions” have been selected to raise employee awareness of the survey and to increase the response rate. Our goal this year is to have an 85 percent completion rate. Prizes will be given to the department with the highest response rate and the department with the most improved response rate.

After the survey is completed and the data compiled, human resources will:

  • Meet with representatives from each department and share their specific results.
  • Facilitate focus groups. Interested employees can attend focus groups to analyze “needs improvement” areas and make suggestions for the future.
  • Administer targeted training for employees and departments in areas that need improvement.

You are important to UNMC, and your feedback counts, so we strongly encourage you to take the survey. The more participation we have, the better we can understand and address what most influences employee engagement, motivation, performance and UNMC’s overall success.

Please contact Margaret Boyce at 559-9090 if you are interested in attending a focus group or if you have any questions regarding the survey.
