Seats still available for trolley tour of Omaha

UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees, students and their immediate families are invited on a tour of historical Omaha. On March 27, family members and friends also can come along on this trolley trip back in time! Hop on Ollie the Trolley and visit “The Gritty City.”

The tour, sponsored by the Durham Museum, will take participants to several historic sites, including:

  • The former home of Madame Anna Wilson;
  • The Brandeis Building; and
  • The Paxton Hotel.

Presenter Molly Gruber also will highlight the impact of noted individuals and events in our city’s sometimes turbulent history.

When: Noon on March 27. The tour lasts about 75 minutes.

Where: The tour starts just outside the Sorrell Center at 42nd and Emile streets. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

Registration: The tour costs $10 per person and seating is limited. Reservations must be made in advance. Contact the UNMC events coordinator to reserve your space.

Payment can be sent to Anna Kirshenbaum, ZIP 5230, after reservations are made. The tour is for employees and students of Nebraska Medicine and UNMC as well as spouses and guests.

The tour is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees, students and their immediate families with valid identification. The partnership also offers lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center.
