Perioperative medicine; periprocedural anticoagulation management; research involving validated assessment tools for venous thromboembolism prophylaxis and treatment.
How I fell in love with internal medicine:
My favorite medical school professor and mentor was a gastroenterologist who stimulated my passion for internal medicine. I like problem-solving and enjoy the challenge of managing a wide variety of medically complex patients. Internal medicine gives me a chance to learn something from every subspecialty and allows me to be in a unique position of piecing together all the parts of my patient’s clinical puzzle.

- I was a competitive middle and long-distance freestyle swimmer who represented Barbados at local, regional and international meets.
