The deadline to complete the UNMC Employee Engagement Survey has been extended to March 27.

“Our employees are important to UNMC, and their feedback counts,” said Margaret Boyce, survey coordinator. “The more people who complete the survey, the better we can understand and address what most influences employee engagement, motivation, performance and UNMC’s overall success.”

The goal is an 85 percent response rate, Boyce said. The response rate is currently 60.4 percent.

Mary Ann Mertz, Ph.D., interim assistant dean at the College of Nursing’s Kearney campus, filled out the survey right away.

“I believe it is very important to complete,” she said. “I also wanted to be a good example for our faculty and staff here at the College of Nursing Kearney Division.”

“The survey was very easy and quick with straightforward questions,” said Sue Clark, who works at the McGoogan Library of Medicine. “That made the survey fun to take.”

“It’s good to know everyone’s opinion counts,” said Jerrie Dayton of the Munroe-Meyer Institute.

The survey is administered through an e-mail from UnmcEngagementSurvey@Kenexa.com, which contains the URL to access your survey. The survey only takes about 15 minutes to complete.

All survey results will be maintained under strict confidentiality by a third-party survey organization, Kenexa. Your individual responses will be entirely confidential as Kenexa is committed to the anonymity of this process. All analyses will be reported in summary form only. No individual responses will ever be shared.

I filled out my survey the first day. I also believe that employee feedback can be important, if it is taken seriously and the surveys aren't just a "show". Maybe the low percentage of survey completions should be an indicator of the level of employee engagement, in itself?
