The new photo ID card displaying the UNMC and Nebraska Medicine emblem is now available for exchange for all cardholders.

The process is expected to take the remainder of the year, with 20,000 to 30,000 badges needing replacement across both UNMC and Nebraska Medicine. The photo ID office appreciates everyone’s patience during this extensive process.

The first phase of the replacement process includes walk-in availability at the ID office and at select new employee orientations at the UNMC/Nebraska Medicine-Nebraska Medical Center campus.

Walk-ins are welcome during open hours at the ID office on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The ID office is located at the Student Life Center and limited visitor parking is available.

UneCard+ (Metro Credit Union)

Before your new ID badge has been reissued, employees taking advantage of the UneCard+ feature should let the photo ID office know, prior to badge printing, that they would like to connect the new card to their existing UneCard+ Metro account. Interested employees will receive an email with a toll free phone number to set up their four-digit PIN and activate the card. If you have any questions, or need assistance, contact Metro CU Business Development Manager Dustin West at 402-552-7190 or dustin.west@metrofcu.org.

  • If you do not currently have the UneCard+ Metro Credit Union feature on your existing ID but wish to have it added please contact Dustin West at either contact method mentioned above.
    • As the walk-in process is occurring, photo ID staff will begin rebadging locations outside of the medical center campus, including UNMC campuses in Lincoln, Norfolk, Scottsbluff and Kearney. Locations with regular contact with patients, family and community members will receive priority. A coordinator from each location will be designated and will pass along specific instructions to staff as necessary.

Once the walk-in and off-site rebadging is complete, photo ID staff will reach out department-by-department to arrange for remaining rebadging. Staff will have an opportunity to provide updated credentials to their department coordinator and those with a SER barcode should also provide their SER number to ensure that it is properly prepared on their new ID.

Annually-renewable affiliate (contract) employees should wait for their next renewal period to replace their ID card.

Will the UNECard still work or do we need to go to Metro to get that functional on the cards ?

    2. Terrie Urban says:
