What sparked your interest in public health?
My interest in rural primary care brought me to public health. I grew up in a rural area isolated from health care, and I have seen firsthand some of the opportunities and challenges associated with primary care. In my ambition to become a physician assistant, I found this opportunity in community-oriented primary care. It is important to me to be able to identify health care gaps and connect this knowledge with clinical practice. Thankfully, the certificate program will allow me to complete my education in public health before starting my physician assistant studies.
