Obtain new photo ID card during walk-in hours

Basic Instructions

Come prepared

• Name: The first name on your ID card must match what is currently in the SAP system. If you have an acceptable nickname or preferred first name that is other than your proper first name and would like it used for your badge, UNMC employees should contact their department PAF coordinator (who does departmental to ask for the change. Please allow two days for the change to occur before participating in the rebadging process.
• Credentials: There is a slight change as to how credentials will be displayed on the new badges.
  • Credentials displayed on your ID must be pertinent to your job position.
  • Redundant degrees or certification will no longer be put on the ID. Your highest level degree will take precedence. Be prepared to advise photo ID staff of your most current credential and certification. Credentials must be provided before the new badge is printed; no reprints will occur if the full credential was not communicated beforehand.
• Current Badge: Bring your current photo ID to exchange for your replacement badge. Failure to bring your current badge will result in a replacement fee.

Photos

• Photos older than five years will require a new picture.
• If the photo on your current ID is less than five years old, you will not be required to take a new picture but you do have the option of getting a new photograph.

Card Reader Door Access

• Any main campus card access to door readers that you currently have on your photo ID will be automatically transferred to your new badge. Colleges located outside of Omaha will need access (if any) to be changed at those locations. Any access to Nebraska Medicine locations off campus, except HIM Crownepoint, Baker Place, Oakview & Eagle Run Clinics and Mutual of Omaha offices will need to be added back to your card.
