Lookin’ at U – Peggy Moore

Each Thursday, we randomly feature a medical center employee. This week, we learn about:

  • Name: Peggy Moore
  • Hometown: Fairfield, Neb.
  • No. of years at UNMC: Eight months

Tell us about what you do here at UNMC.

As the e-learning instructional designer for UNMC Academic Affairs, I support the e-learning across campus by collaborating with faculty, staff and e-learning grant award winners on best practices, active learning pedagogy, and sound instructional design when using technology to help students learn.

Leadership is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group act as a trusted resource at UNMC.
E-learning at UNMC, by its very nature, allows me to meet and work with many of the most innovative people on campus – faculty, students and staff. I see these leaders dedicate extensive time, effort and energy into enhancing education at UNMC. These leaders ask questions, learn from others, collaborate, take risks, share time and knowledge with others and are always looking to the future of education for our upcoming health care providers.

What is your favorite summer activity?
Lake time with family and friends and cheering on people who are learning how to water ski.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • Basil is my favorite fresh herb that I grow and the one I love using when I cook.
  • I’m a Nebraska native, University of Nebraska-Lincoln grad and Husker Fan. I know all of the words to “Dear Old Nebraska U” and will happily join in singing a hardy rendition.
  • Plant a Tree – I worked at the Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure in Nebraska City.

Great to learn about what you do for us at UNMC Peggy. I am just wrapping up an MPH here, so unfortunately won't see you around. Have fun with that bird dog of yours this summer!
