Twenty-four undergraduate students are spending the summer conducting research.

They are called INBRE scholars and are part of the largest grant in UNMC history.

Today we meet Christopher Dziatkowski of Omaha, who studies biotechnology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Tell us about yourself. Who are your heroes?
I enjoy all types of science, German, and military history. As cheesy as it sounds, my dad is my hero.

What are your career goals?
That’s a complicated question that changes all the time for me, but right now I would like to work with genetics research.

How did you become interested in science?
The UNO Aim for the Stars program.

What do you hope the INBRE program will do for you?
I hope to gain the knowledge and guidance I need to learn what I want to do and how to do it.
