• Hometown: Born in Topeka, Kan., but the majority of my life has been spent in Papillion, Neb.
• No. of years at UNMC: 33 years

Tell us a bit about what you do.

I am a pediatric cardiology nurse and work primarily in the outpatient setting. My special interests are in prenatal diagnosis, interventional cardiology and the care of kids with single ventricles.

Being a trusted resource is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group act as a trusted resource at UNMC.
I have the pleasure of witnessing this on a regular basis. Two of my coworkers, Kris Houston and Lu Mill, are educated electrophysiology nurses that provide comfort and reassurance to families who are dealing with an abnormal heart rhythm. They are a trusted resource for our department and at UNMC.

What is your favorite summer activity?

Anything outside on a beautiful sunny day.

List three things people may not know about you.

• During nurse’s training I was a bank teller and caught a forger.
• I have two grown children who make me very proud.
• I am a huge dog lover.
