UNMC is currently taking part in the 2015 United Way Campaign. Each week during the campaign, we will feature a member of the UNMC community who is a United Way supporter.

The running total
As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, UNMC achieved:
- Donations of $68,548.56, more than 44 percent of the campaign goal of $155,000.
- Employee participation of 16 percent. This year’s participation goal is 50 percent. Remember, using the UNMC eServ website to choose not to donate counts as participation, and all participants will be entered in the first prize drawing to be held this Friday at 4 p.m.

Every agency is unique in how they affect our community. How do you pick just one? Some years I designate, and some years I select. That way, I feel every agency gets a little piece of the pie.
I support the United Way because:
I started contributing to the United Way when I started at MMI 27 years ago. I was not making much money then, but I wanted to help. My boss at that time suggested payroll deduction. Designating just $1 per paycheck sends a donation of about $25 per year. I started doing payroll deductions and have never missed the money.
It has become a fall tradition, like football and the new school year starting. I like feeling that my small contribution along with others from UNMC can make one huge difference. One more way UNMC demonstrates its tagline, Breakthroughs for Life!

Does this UW donation method still only apply to Omaha and / or Lincoln employees?
The UNMC campaign applies only to the Omaha campus employees that are full time. Lincoln and the other campuses run their own campaigns (if they choose to do so).
