Jim Padussis, M.D., is a new faculty member at UNMC’s department of surgery, division of surgical oncology. Here’s a brief rundown of his background and the expertise he brings to campus.

Research Interests:
Development and outcomes of minimally invasive approaches to pancreatic and foregut malignancies; resident education in robotic-assisted surgery; molecular genetics of pancreatic cysts; novel approaches to regional chemotherapy delivery.

How I feel in love with surgical oncology:
I fell in love with surgical oncology during my third year of medical school. The ability to diagnose, treat and often cure malignancies in the operating room makes the field very rewarding.
