What sparked your interest in public health?
My interest in public health began at Creighton University, when I took the courses medical anthropology and global health issues. In these courses, I began to develop a curiosity about health issues that affect other countries, especially after reading books by Paul Farmer. I plan on advancing my passion for public and global health by going on a College of Public Health service trip to Nicaragua next spring break.

Three things people may not know about you.
- This summer, my partner and I decided to pack whatever we could fit into our car and we moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. It was a wonderful experience being able to explore a new city.
- Whenever I have free time, I enjoy spending this time painting on a canvas. My goal is to enter at least one art competition within the next year.
- I have a beautiful 21- month-old daughter who loves to sing, dance and wave at every dog she sees.
