Wellness: Donate Life Heroes’ run/walk set for April 16

The 5th annual Donate Life Nebraska 5K Run and Heroes’ Walk will be held at Aksarben Village’s Stinson Park in Omaha on April 16.

The event, sponsored by Nebraska Medicine, is unique in that it brings together transplant recipients and their families, living donors, donor families, medical professionals, the business community, serious runners and casual runners from across Nebraska. The program offers education and promotion of donor registry benefiting those in need.

Participants will experience a 5K run with scenic views on a paved route that is perfect for strollers and runners alike. Chip-timing will be available for all runners who are interested in tracking their time.

5K participants will experience an invigorating run along the Keystone Trail.

The 1-mile Heroes’ Walk honors the families that have graciously elected to donate organs, eyes and tissue of loved ones to benefit those in need and the living donors’ that have also made that life-saving choice.
