Night of Latin music, dancing will support UNMC fund

On Friday, April 8, “A Night of Latin Dancing” will be held at the Vintage Ballroom, 614 S. 11th St. in Omaha. The event features Latin music as well as beginner and intermediate salsa classes and beginner merengue and bachata classes. Proceeds from ticket and lesson sales, as well as a portion of liquor sales, will go to the HIV Patient Care Fund, a local charity based at UNMC that helps in the care of local people living with HIV.

The night’s schedule is:

  • 7:30 p.m.: Doors open
  • 8 p.m.: Intermediate salsa class ($15 per person)
  • 8:45 p.m.: Beginner salsa, merengue and bachata ($5 per person)
  • 10 p.m.- 1 a.m.: Latin music by a local DJ ($15 per person)

Students with valid ID and those who purchase tickets before April 1 will receive $5 off admission and the beginner class at no charge. Tickets can be purchased by calling 402-350-6371. Gifts directly to the fund can be made via the University of Nebraska Foundation. (Fund #01055580).
