Facilities Management & Planning at Nebraska Medicine will conduct a fire drill on Friday, May 13, that will be noticeably different from previous tests.
In order to maintain compliance with the State Fire Marshal Office, it will involve sounding the fire alarms throughout an entire building at the same time. The audible alarm will silence after 10 seconds; the visual, strobe alarms will remain on throughout the test, which is estimated to take 15 to 30 minutes.
Moving forward, Facilities says they will conduct a test every quarter on all shifts in the following buildings: Clarkson Tower, Hixson-Lied Center, University Tower and Lied Transplant Center.
