Med center offering tobacco cessation classes

UNMC and Nebraska Medicine are inviting colleagues to take part in free tobacco cessation classes.

The programs will be offered at three different times, beginning June 1 with a tobacco cessation class from noon to 12:50 p.m. at Wittson Hall, Room 3042, facilitated by Tom Klingemann, Pharm.D. The six-week program will continue to meet on June 8, 21, 29 and July 6 and 13. This class is free not only to colleagues, but family members as well. Bring lunch; light refreshments will be provided.

A second tobacco cessation class will be held beginning June 2. This three-week session will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Durham Outpatient Center, Room 2628, with classes continuing on June 9 and 23. Dr. Klingemann also will facilitate this session. This class is free not only to colleagues, but family members as well. Bring dinner; light refreshments will be provided.

A “Quit and Get Fit” six-week class will be held beginning June 6 from 2:30-3:15 p.m. at the Wellness Center on the ground floor of Clarkson Tower, Room 0872. Physician assistant Jill Selzle will facilitate the class, which will continue on June 13, 20, 27 and July 11 and 18. This class is free to campus colleagues only and includes a six-week membership to the Wellness Center. Limited enrollment is available to this program.
