New design templates available online

Instructions for converting UNMC Web sites to the new design template are now available online for all campus Web developers. The step-by-step directions, and the files to be downloaded, can be found at https://info.unmc.edu/template/.

“The conversion process is fairly simple,” said Theresa Cassiday, Web/Online communications coordinator in the UNMC Department of Public Affairs. “Each developer will need to update the file with the department name, then replace their header and footer files with the new ones. Then their Web pages can be republished to the Web.”

An e-mail was sent to campus Web developers earlier this week to announce that the templates were ready, Cassiday said. Any Web developers who did not receive this e-mail should contact Atul Rayamajhi at 559-2822 or e-mail him to have their names added to the Web developers list.

All UNMC Web sites managed by Public Affairs, and most of the campus’ data base-driven Web sites, have been converted to the new format, said Dan Moser, associate director of learning environment/Internet services in ITS. He estimated that about 35 percent of UNMC’s Web site has already been changed to the new look.

Each department can create their own photo bars for the headers. Those who want to do this should contact Cassiday at 559-4696 to discuss their photos and ideas.

Those who have any questions or need technical assistance may call one of the following staff in the IT department for help: Anne Faylor, 559-3043 ; Joe Ziskovsky, 559-8949; or Atul Rayamajhi, 559-2822.
