This year’s Halloween costume contest winners were, from left: Susan Polack, Kim Waszgis, Chrissie Van Cleave, Jenny Bush, Anne Faylor and Eric Hunter.

Harry Potter, Little Red Riding Hood, a red M&M, and a vampire were spotted inside the Nebraska Cafe Friday.

The unusual ensemble kicked off the ghoulish weekend by participating in the annual Halloween costume contest, sponsored by Food Services.

First place went to Susan Polack, family practice, who dressed as a Chiquita banana woman, and Anne Faylor, ITS, who dressed as the wicked queen from Snow White.

Second place went to Kim Waszgis, cancer center, who posed as static cling, and Jenny Bush, Six Sigma Black Belt, who dressed as a witch.

Third place went to Chrissie Van Cleave, medical records, who dressed as a pregnant nun, and Eric Hunter, medical materials services, who resembled a warrior.

First-place recipients each won a tailgate party for 15 with a six-foot sub sandwich, chips, cookies and soda. Second-place recipients each won a party for five, which included cookies and soda. Third-place recipients received $10 gift certificates.
