Construction update

East access to the Lot 2 (Green) parking structure from the Durham Outpatient Center circle drive will be closed between Aug. 1-16, weather permitting. All patients, visitors and staff will need to access the Lot 2 (Green) parking structure from the west entrance on 45th Street (Durham Research Plaza).

Contractors will continue improvements and repairs to the Lot 2 (Green) parking structure to improve the patient experience. Improvements include new traffic coatings to increase the number of parking stalls, painting the garage white, installing new wayfinding signage and reversing the traffic direction for improved flow and ease of navigation for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

The parking structure, however, will remain open throughout the work period, although portions of the structure may be impacted by construction.

The enhancements are comprised of regularly scheduled maintenance, as well as upgrades related to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center project.

Circle drive concrete work to take place from July 29 to Oct. 10

Between July 29 and Oct. 10, concrete work will occur in various areas of the circle drive as well as sidewalks, pedestrian walks and the drive leading to the Bariatric Center. The majority of the work will be done on weekends to minimize the impact to patients, visitors and staff during busier weekday times.

Drivers and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution and pay attention to posted signage as changes will be ongoing.
